I understand how overwhelming it can feel to break away from the traditional methods of education that most parents were raised with, however, if you have a deep knowing that your child has not been, is currently not, or will not, thrive in the traditional educational setting, then trying to re-create "School at Home" will not solve the problems they have or that you're concerned about.

​If you're struggling or scared to step away from the boxed curriculums and the school-from-home method, know that I understand the fear of failing when it comes to homeschooling. I get it. It IS scary and overwhelming. Even as a public school teacher (I taught sign language so it’s a far cry from math and science education) I struggled at first with how to meet my kids hearts and mind needs as well as their academic ones. That’s when I started looking for non-traditional methods of homeschooling, and I found that academic failure is less about the actual information in academics and so much more about the lack of connection to that information. That led me to study neuroscience and connected parenting and teaching and it’s why I have become such an advocate of passion-based teaching and learning.
